The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas will also be recognized for its statewide leadership in mentoring, education assistance and male development and we are scheduled to receive the 2019 University of Texas at Arlington Langston Hughes Community Service Award. We are asking statewide lodges ensure a representative is available to provide a true representation of the statewide network of men that have made our work possible. It is our goal to have significant representation and participation in the events of the day by the Prince Hall Family.

The Grand Lodge has taken the role of assisting in providing Honorariums For Special Presenters to this event.

We are asking at least twenty of our lodges to donate $150 each to assist us in providing reimbursement honorariums. If there are any individual Brothers that would like to donate to this cause, that would also be greatly appreciated.¬† The donations will be issued to the speakers as honorariums, one of whom is Langston Hughes’ cousin, who is coming from Indiana to display Langston Hughes’ artifacts at the event and he will speak on behalf of their family museum. These honorariums will provide reimbursement for travel lodging and food for the guest speakers.
